Transport

Market Rasen was lucky enough to escape Beeching's cull of the railways in the 1960's and still has its own railway station.

station

There are regular services to and from Grimsby, Lincoln and Cleethorpes. Passengers travelling from the North West and South Yorkshire can change at Barnetby for a regular service to Market Rasen. There are also fairly frequent trains from Newark Northgate station for those travelling in from the East Midlands and further afield.

Even if you don't come in by train, it's well worth visiting our station which is beautifully kept and looked after by volunteers - look out for the murals and paintings around the platforms, and also for the memorial to the crew of an RAF V-bomber which crashed nearby during the height of the Cold War.

If you are travelling by car, we have several  car parks in the town - these can be found in the Market Place at the centre of town, as well as John St, Union St and George St (the B1202).
The council car parks operate a Pay and Display system from Mon-Sat  08.00 to 18.00hrs. The 1st 2hrs are free.

Travelling in by bus can be more difficult, but the Number 53 Interconnect service from Lincoln to Grimsby passes through Market Rasen, and stops at the market place. Note that there are no buses on a Sunday though!

Please check all travel details with service operators, as we can't be held responsible for you missing your ride home - see Staying In Rasen!
